
London-based exhibitions Feel the Sound, Splash! A Century of Swimming and Style and Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art and Culture are among the architecture and design events featured in Dezeen Events Guide this August.
Other events taking place during the month include Space Design Fair and Jia Curated.

Splash! A Century of Swimming and Style
28 March to 17 August, UK
August marks the last month to visit Splash! A Century of Swimming and Style, an exhibition at London’s Design Museum, which displays over 200 objects.
The exhibition is separated into three themes – the pool, the lido and nature – which explore the history of swimwear, water-based architecture and sports.
Pieces on show include an Olympic gold medal, Pamela Anderson’s Baywatch swimsuit and a model of the London 2012 Aquatics Centre by Zaha Hadid.

Feel the Sound
22 May to 31 August, UK
On display at the Barbican Centre, Feel the Sound is a multi-sensory exhibition addressing people’s relationship with sound, including how they interact with and are influenced by it.
Spanning the centre’s entrance, foyer, exhibition space and car park, the exhibition features 11 installations, four of which are specially-created commissions and four are adapted projects.

Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art and Culture
30 May to 31 August, UK
This is the last month to visit the Saatchi Gallery‘s exhibition, which spotlights the cultural use of flowers and botanics.
Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art and Culture showcases 500 objects, including art, fashion and graphic design pieces, which highlight florals in art, design, music, film and literature.
The exhibition also features installations, including a bespoke project by artist Rebecca Louise Law featuring over 100,000 dried flowers.
Space Design Fair
30 July to 2 August, South Korea
Space Design Fair is an annual event spotlighting furniture, appliances, finishes and materials, and lighting over four days.
Alongside the exhibitions, the event provides brand consultations, spatial design offerings and digital marketing solutions.
The fair takes place at the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center in Seoul.

Jia Curated
14 to 18 August, Indonesia
Design, craft and culture festival Jia Curated returns to Bali Festival Park, hosting more than 70 exhibitions over five days.
This year’s event follows the theme Evolving Perspectives, exploring “curiosity, resilience and adaptability” while championing diversity and inclusion.
