Gate Lodge, Ireland, by A2 Architects

Architecture studio A2 Architects topped a minimal white home in Navan, Ireland, with a pyramidal roof made of red corrugated metal.

The 141-square-metre home is located at the entrance to a rural estate, and the studio drew on the forms of historic lodge structures.

Glass Brick House, Belgium, by Delmulle Delmulle Architecten

Local studio Delmulle Delmulle Architecten built the upper two floors of the street-facing facade of this home in Ghent from glass brickwork, which the gives building its name.

The studio created the distinctive facade to allow natural light into the three-storey home, which is enclosed by neighbouring buildings on its other three sides.

The Perch by Studio B

The Perch, USA, by Studio B

The founders of Studio B aimed to “preserve the spirit of the original structure” in its renovation of a 1960s house in Aspen as a home for themselves.

The studio carried out a full renovation of the home, stripping it to its studs before creating a modern interior.

House Hökarn, Sweden, by Per Bornstein

Architect Per Bornstein used untreated lime plaster, pine, concrete and steel to create this minimalist home on an elevated meadow in rural Sweden.

Named House Hökarn, the home’s aesthetic was informed by barn houses, Mallorcan monasteries and local cottages.

18-07 Holiday Home by Office Inainn

18-07 Holiday Home, Norway, by Office Inainn

Designed for a client who wanted to enjoy the dramatic landscape of Norway‘s western coast, 18-07 Holiday Home is located on a steep site in Valdall, a valley in Møre og Romsdal county.

According to architecture studio Office Inainn, the prefabricated house drew on the layered composition of slate for its stacked form.
