This week on Dezeen<\/a>, the long-awaited Obama Presidential Center<\/a>, designed by US studio Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, was unveiled in Chicago.<\/span><\/p>\n

Built to honour former US president Barack Obama, the complex is defined by a monumental granite-clad tower<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rising to 69 metres, the granite tower, which is surrounded by low-level buildings topped with artificial hills, has a viewing area enclosed by giant letters at its peak.<\/p>\n

We rounded up the 13 US presidential libraries<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

To mark the opening of the Obama Presidential Center, we rounded up the other 13 presidential libraries in the USA<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spread across the country, the structures dedicated to former presidents include buildings designed by Gordon Bunshaft, IM Pei and RAMSA.<\/p>\n

\"Lanza<\/a>
This year’s Serpentine Pavilion was revealed in London<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In the UK, the 25th Serpentine Pavilion was revealed in London<\/a>. Designed by Mexican studio Lanza Atelier, the pavilion was informed by curved, traditional English brick walls, known as crinkle crankle walls.<\/p>\n

The building, which opens to the public today, is the first Serpentine Pavilion to be built from brick.<\/p>\n

\"Sagrada<\/a>
Lego has created a Sagrada Familia set<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Also in architecture news, Lego created a set based on the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Launched to mark the centenary of Antoni Gaud\u00ed<\/a>‘s death later this year, with 12,060 pieces, the set is the largest ever made by the toy brand.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Cat<\/a>
Gustaf Westman created a playful cat tree<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In design news, Swedish designer Gustaf Westman created a playful cat tree called the Chunky Cat Tree<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is the latest piece in his collection of Chunky designs, joining cups, glasses, vases, stools and flower pots created by the designer.<\/p>\n

A pixelated skyscraper in Brazil was one of this week’s most viewed projects<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Popular projects this week included a pixelated skyscraper in Brazil<\/a>, a laptop designed by Ferrari<\/a> and a Malaysian guesthouse topped with a bamboo and steel canopy<\/a>.<\/p>\n
