Commenters jokingly referred to it as the &#8220;Arc De Trump&#8221; \u2013 a play on the famous Paris arch.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2314999\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2314999\" style=\"width: 2364px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-2314999 size-full lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" alt=\"President Trump arch\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1576\" data-src=\"http:\/\/www.angesfinanciers.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/triumphal-arch-donald-trump-washington-dc_dezeen_2364_crop-2.jpg\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2314999\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The administration of Donald Trump released designs for a triumphal arch on Friday<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The design was submitted via a PDF presentation to the advisory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfa.gov\/\">Commission of Fine Arts<\/a> (CFA).<\/p>\n<p>The documents contain site plans and renders of the project.<\/p>\n<p>The drawings show the archway spanning the width of a roundabout. However, Trump used the panel to move the White House ballroom forward, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2026\/03\/31\/white-house-ballroom-project-temporarily-halted-by-judge\/\">which is currently being held up in courts<\/a>, as the approval process was deemed unlawful.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2315006\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2315006\" style=\"width: 2364px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-2315006 size-full lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" alt=\"\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1576\" data-src=\"http:\/\/www.angesfinanciers.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/triumphal-arch-donald-trump-washington-dc_dezeen_2364_crop-3.jpg\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2315006\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">It is proposed to be part of the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the United States of America<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The CFA is due to consider the design at a meeting next week, based on the current plans.<\/p>\n<p>Trump previously presented models of the arch at a fundraising event at the White House in October. At the time, it was unclear if there was an architect on the project, although architecture studio <a href=\"https:\/\/harrisondesign.com\/\">Harrison Design<\/a> produced renders for the event.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has proposed a number of projects around the nation&#8217;s capital.
