A selection committee comprised of professional members from the JCCM and Anges Québec will evaluate the candidates. From Anges Québec, André Forest and some other members, including renowned entrepreneurs with extensive experience in business, will participate in the selection process. The selection committee was constituted to ensure that its members possess a variety of i) functional skills (investors, entrepreneurs and professionals from the banking, legal, and private equity sectors) and (ii) industry-specific knowledge (IT, manufacturing, medical, etc.).
Overall, the selection process is broken down to three phases:
All cohort members will attend the "Angel Investors Challenge" Event from December 1 to receive recognition and will have the opportunity to meet with investors. Anges Quebec will present the most promising company. In addition, all members of the cohort will benefit from media exposure surrounding the initiative along with all other advantages offered by the Angel Investors Challenge as well. The companies that were not selected for the 2011 cohort will be invited to attend the "Angels Investors Challenge Event" and will have the opportunity to meet with investors there. Among the dozen of companies constituting the cohort, three to four companies will give a verbal presentation of roughly 10 minutes in front of the audience at the Anges Quebec (“Anges Quebec Event”) in order to receive offers of investment.
